Communications and information technologies have changed dramatically over the past couple of decades. The academic field charged with tracking information systems, MIS, has changed as well. And it will continue to change as technology does. This presentation looks at how academic MIS is poised to change in the near future and predicts what those changes might be. These changes have implications for both practitioners and researchers.

Joey F. George教授是当前群组决策以及新媒介选择行为领域的世界著名学者，现为美国爱荷华州立大学信息系统教授，拥有该校商业供应链管理和信息系统John D. DeVries讲座教席。他曾担任2010-2011年度的国际信息系统协会（AIS）主席，同时作为大会主席组织了第33届全球信息系统大会（ICIS2012）。Joey George教授在 2008年当选全球信息系统协会会士（Fellow），2014年获得信息系统协会颁发的LEO奖（信息系统领域全球学术最高奖项）。在近十年来担任Communication of AIS的主编以及 IS领域顶尖期刊 MIS Quarterly、 Information Systems Research的副主编或高级编委。

Joey George教授的主要研究领域是群组决策的组织行为以及信息系统的发展和新媒介选择机制等，擅长在新兴IT支持的组织团队和个人的行为建模与仿真。
